By using this site, booking a call, registering for a workshop, or buying a course, you're agreeing to what's on this page. I've kept it short and in plain English because I'd rather you actually read it.

What I am, and what I'm not

I'm an educator with nearly three decades in schools as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. What I offer is guidance, strategy, and navigation for parents. It is educational and practical.

It is not therapy, counseling, medical care, legal advice, or a clinical assessment, and nothing on this site or in a session with me should be taken as any of those. If you need a clinician or an attorney, I'll tell you, and I'll help you find one. The Disclaimers page says more.

If something is happening right now

This site is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. If your child is talking about suicide or self-harm, call or text 988. Don't wait on a form, a chat, or a booked call. Need Help Now has the numbers that answer around the clock.

Booking a call

• The Navigator Triage Call is free. Paid sessions are priced on the Work With Katey page, and the price you see when you book is the price.
• You can reschedule or cancel a booking from the confirmation email. If you need to cancel a paid session, do it before the session starts; I'll say what happens to the payment at the time you book.
• If I have to cancel, you'll get your time back or your money back, your choice.
• Calls are on Zoom unless we agree otherwise. Sessions may be recorded so I can send you a summary afterward; I'll tell you before recording starts.

Workshops

• One registration covers your household. Bring the other parent.
• If you can't make it, the recording goes out afterward to everyone who registered.
• Workshop recordings are for the people who registered. Please don't share them.

Courses and the member area

• The free community costs nothing and you can leave whenever you like.
• A course purchase gives you access to that course, for you and your household. Course content is for your own use; please don't share your login or redistribute the material.
• Refund terms for courses are stated at the point of purchase.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your card details. Prices are in US dollars.

The Family Network

When I refer you to a professional, I'm telling you that in my judgment they're worth your call. I'm not guaranteeing an outcome, and I'm not managing your case once you're connected. That relationship is between you and them. If I don't know the right person for you, I'll say so rather than send you to someone at random.

Your part

• Give me accurate information. The guidance I give you is only as good as what you tell me.
• Use this site for its intended purpose. Don't scrape it, attack it, or use it to harass anyone.
• You're responsible for the decisions you make for your family. I'll give you my honest read; the call is yours.

What's mine

The writing, guides, course material, recordings, and the Five Capacities framework on this site are mine. You're welcome to share links to pages. Please don't copy, republish, or sell the material itself.

Limits

I do this work carefully, and I stand behind it. Even so, I can't guarantee a particular result for your child or your family, and I'm not liable for decisions you make based on what you read here or hear from me. To the extent the law allows, my liability for anything arising from this site or my services is limited to what you paid me for the service in question.

Privacy

How I handle your information is on the Privacy Policy page, and it's part of these terms.

Changes and the law

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. If there's a dispute, let's talk first; I'd rather fix it than fight about it.
